- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1/4 cup chopped shallots
- 2 tablespoons fish sauce
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon chili flakes
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh mint
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
- Cooked jasmine rice or lettuce cups for serving
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground turkey and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat.
- Add chopped shallots to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes until softened.
- In a small bowl, whisk together fish sauce, lime juice, brown sugar, and chili flakes.
- Pour the dressing over the turkey mixture in the skillet and stir to combine.
- Remove from heat and stir in fresh mint, cilantro, and green onions.
- Serve warm with jasmine rice or in lettuce cups.
Notes
- Adjust chili flakes to your preferred spice level.
- For extra crunch, add some toasted ground rice (khao khua) to the salad.
- You can substitute ground chicken or beef for turkey.
