Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces smoked salmon, flaked
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
- In a food processor, combine the flaked smoked salmon, softened cream cheese, fresh lemon juice, chopped dill, chopped chives, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using).
- Process until the mixture is smooth and well combined. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed to ensure everything is incorporated.
- Taste and adjust seasonings as desired. You might want more lemon juice, dill, or a bit more pepper.
- Transfer the pâté to a serving bowl.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and the pâté to firm up slightly.
- Serve chilled with crackers, toasted baguette slices, cucumber rounds, or celery sticks.
Notes
- For a chunkier pâté, process for a shorter time, leaving some small pieces of salmon.
- You can prepare this pâté a day in advance. Store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
- Garnish with extra fresh dill or a lemon wedge before serving for an appealing presentation.
- Consider adding a dash of hot sauce for an extra kick.
