- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 (1 ounce) packet taco seasoning
- 1/2 cup water
- 12 taco shells or small flour tortillas
- Optional toppings: shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, sour cream, salsa
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground turkey and onion, cook until turkey is browned and onion is tender, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
- Add taco seasoning and water to the skillet. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the liquid has mostly absorbed and the turkey is well coated.
- Warm taco shells or tortillas according to package directions.
- Spoon the seasoned ground turkey mixture into the warm taco shells or tortillas.
- Serve immediately with your favorite toppings.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of taco seasoning to your preference.
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper with the taco seasoning.
- Leftover turkey mixture can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
