- 12 ounces spaghetti or linguine
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 2 (5 ounce) cans tuna in olive oil, drained
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Cook spaghetti according to package directions. Drain, reserving 1/2 cup pasta water.
- While pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in lemon juice and parsley.
- Add drained tuna to the skillet and break it apart with a spoon.
- Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet. Toss to combine.
- If needed, add a splash of reserved pasta water to create a light sauce.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately, topped with Parmesan cheese if desired.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the garlic.
- You can use any type of canned tuna you prefer.
- Fresh herbs like dill or basil also work well in this dish.
