- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into small pieces
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 8 slider buns
- Pickles for serving
Instructions
- Marinate chicken in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
- Mix flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder in a bowl.
- Coat each chicken piece in the flour mixture.
- Heat oil in a pan and fry chicken until golden and crispy.
- In a separate bowl, mix cayenne pepper, brown sugar, and chili powder with 1/4 cup of the frying oil to make the hot sauce.
- Toss fried chicken in the hot sauce.
- Place chicken on slider buns and top with pickles.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- Adjust cayenne pepper for desired spice level.
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken reaches 165°F.
- For extra crunch, double-coat the chicken in flour.
