  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)
  • 1 small onion, sliced (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Shape the mixture into oval patties.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook patties for 4-5 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté onions and mushrooms (if using) for 3-4 minutes.
  5. Whisk flour into beef broth and pour into the skillet. Stir until the gravy thickens.
  6. Return the patties to the skillet. Simmer for 10 minutes, flipping halfway.
  7. Serve hot with mashed potatoes or rice.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a splash of red wine to the gravy.
  • Use lean ground beef for a healthier option.
  • Let the patties rest for 5 minutes before serving for juicier results.
