Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 12 ounces egg noodles, cooked

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add onion and garlic. Cook until softened.
  3. Add mushrooms and cook until tender.
  4. Push ingredients to the side. Melt butter in the skillet.
  5. Whisk in flour to make a roux.
  6. Gradually stir in beef broth until smooth.
  7. Add Worcestershire sauce and mustard.
  8. Simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
  9. Remove from heat and stir in sour cream.
  10. Season with salt and pepper.
  11. Serve over cooked egg noodles.

Notes

  • Use lean ground beef for less grease.
  • Substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream if preferred.
  • Add fresh parsley for garnish.
