- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp dried thyme
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until soft.
- Pour in beef broth and bring to a simmer.
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and milk to form a dough.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough into the simmering broth.
- Cover and cook for 15 minutes until dumplings are fluffy.
- Season with black pepper and thyme before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a bay leaf while simmering.
- Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- Substitute milk with water if needed.
