Grilled tuna steaks marinated in ginger and soy sauce for a flavorful and healthy meal.

  • Total Time: 55 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 tuna steaks (about 6 ounces each)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a shallow dish, whisk together the soy sauce, grated ginger, sesame oil, minced garlic, brown sugar, and black pepper.
  2. Place the tuna steaks in the marinade, turning to coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours.
  3. Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the tuna steaks from the marinade, discarding any remaining marinade.
  5. Grill the tuna steaks for 3-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer for desired doneness.
  6. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the marinade.
  • Serve with a side of steamed rice and a green salad.
  • Leftover tuna can be flaked and added to salads or sandwiches.
