- 4 cube steaks (about 1/2 inch thick)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- In a shallow dish, mix flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
- In another dish, whisk together milk and egg.
- Dredge each steak in the flour mixture, then dip in the milk mixture, and coat again in flour.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Fry steaks for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
- Reduce heat to medium. Add 2 tablespoons of leftover flour mixture to the skillet.
- Whisk in beef broth and heavy cream, scraping up browned bits.
- Simmer for 5 minutes until gravy thickens.
- Return steaks to the skillet, spoon gravy over them, and serve hot.
Notes
- Use a meat mallet to tenderize steaks if needed.
- Adjust seasoning to taste.
- For a thicker gravy, simmer longer or add a bit more flour.
