- 1 cup long-grain white rice
- 2 cups water or chicken broth
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- Melt butter and olive oil in a pot over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add the rinsed rice and stir to coat with the garlic butter mixture.
- Pour in water or chicken broth, then add salt and pepper.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes.
- Fluff with a fork and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
- Use chicken broth for extra flavor.
- Do not lift the lid while the rice is cooking.
- Adjust seasoning to taste.
