Garlic Butter Noodles are a simple yet flavorful side dish. They feature tender noodles tossed in a rich sauce of melted butter, fresh garlic, and a hint of Parmesan cheese. This dish is quick to prepare and pairs well with a variety of main courses.

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound spaghetti or your favorite pasta
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving ½ cup of pasta water.
  2. While the pasta cooks, melt the butter in a large skillet or pot over medium heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Do not let the garlic brown.
  4. Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the garlic butter.
  5. Toss the pasta to coat evenly. Add the reserved pasta water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the sauce reaches your desired consistency.
  6. Stir in the chopped fresh parsley and grated Parmesan cheese.
  7. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the garlic.
  • Freshly grated Parmesan cheese works best for this recipe.
  • Any long pasta shape can be used, such as linguine, fettuccine, or bucatini.
  • If you don’t have fresh parsley, dried parsley can be used, but use half the amount.
