  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cups grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt to taste

  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the fettuccine according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. While the pasta cooks, melt the butter in a large skillet or saucepan over medium heat.
  3. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally.
  4. Reduce heat to low and gradually add the Parmesan cheese, stirring constantly until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
  5. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  6. Add the cooked fettuccine to the sauce and toss to coat evenly.
  7. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

  • For a thicker sauce, you can add a little more Parmesan cheese.
  • If the sauce becomes too thick, thin it with a tablespoon or two of pasta water.
