  • 12 taco shells or small flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheese
  • Sour cream (optional)
  • Salsa (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until softened, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Stir in taco seasoning and water. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the liquid has reduced and the beef is well coated.
  4. Warm taco shells or tortillas according to package directions.
  5. Fill each taco shell or tortilla with the seasoned beef mixture.
  6. Top with shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes, shredded cheese, sour cream, and salsa, if desired.
