These Crockpot Meatballs are a simple and flavorful dish, perfect for a weeknight meal or party appetizer. The slow cooker makes them tender and juicy with minimal effort.

  • Total Time: 4 hours 20 minutes to 6 hours 20 minutes
  • Yield: 6-8 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs ground beef or ground chicken
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 24 oz jar marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup beef or chicken broth

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef or chicken, egg, breadcrumbs, onion, minced garlic, milk, salt, pepper, and oregano. Mix gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
  2. Form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs. You should get about 30-35 meatballs.
  3. Place the meatballs in the slow cooker.
  4. Pour the marinara sauce and beef or chicken broth over the meatballs. Stir gently to coat.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, or until the meatballs are cooked through and tender.
  6. Serve hot with your favorite pasta, rice, or as an appetizer.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the meatball mixture.
  • These meatballs can be frozen after cooking. Allow them to cool completely, then store in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
  • Serve with a sprinkle of fresh parsley or grated Parmesan cheese.
