Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Combine breadcrumbs, parmesan, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper in a shallow dish.
  3. Beat eggs in another shallow dish.
  4. Dip each chicken breast in eggs, then coat with breadcrumb mixture.
  5. Place chicken on a greased baking sheet.
  6. Drizzle with olive oil.
  7. Bake for 20 minutes.
  8. Remove from oven, top with marinara sauce and mozzarella.
  9. Return to oven for 5-7 minutes until cheese melts.

Notes

  • Pound chicken to even thickness for uniform cooking.
  • Use fresh breadcrumbs for extra crispiness.
  • Let chicken rest 5 minutes before serving.
