  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for rolling)
  • 1 tsp red and green sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
  6. Roll dough into 1-inch balls, then coat in powdered sugar.
  7. Place on baking sheet and gently flatten with your hand.
  8. Sprinkle with red and green sprinkles if desired.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set but centers remain soft.
  10. Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

  • Dough can be refrigerated for 30 minutes if too soft to handle.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
