- 12 oz chicken sausage, sliced
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add sliced chicken sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Add orzo, broccoli, chicken broth, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low.
- Cover and simmer for 10 minutes or until orzo is tender.
- Sprinkle with parmesan cheese before serving.
Notes
- Use turkey sausage as an alternative.
- Add cherry tomatoes for extra flavor.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
