Ingredients

  • 12 oz chicken sausage, sliced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add sliced chicken sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Add orzo, broccoli, chicken broth, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low.
  6. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes or until orzo is tender.
  7. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese before serving.
