A hearty one-pan meal with tender steak, rice, and melted cheese.

  • Total Time: 35 mins
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb flank steak, sliced thin
  • 1 cup white rice, uncooked
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add steak slices and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté onion and bell pepper until soft, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add rice, beef broth, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir well.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes.
  6. Return steak to the skillet and mix with rice.
  7. Sprinkle cheese on top, cover, and let melt for 2 minutes.
  8. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Use a sharp knife to slice steak thin for even cooking.
  • Substitute chicken broth if beef broth is unavailable.
  • Add hot sauce for extra spice.
