This cheeseburger casserole is a simple, comforting dish with all the flavors of a classic cheeseburger in casserole form.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 (10 ounce) can refrigerated biscuit dough, cut into 8 pieces

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook ground beef and onion over medium heat until beef is browned and onion is tender. Drain off any excess fat.
  3. Stir in garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. In a medium bowl, whisk together cream of mushroom soup and milk. Stir into the beef mixture.
  5. Transfer the beef mixture to a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  6. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
  7. Arrange biscuit pieces over the cheese.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.

Notes

  • You can add other cheeseburger toppings like pickles or tomatoes to the casserole before baking.
  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the beef mixture.
  • If you don’t have cream of mushroom soup, cream of celery or cream of chicken soup can be used as a substitute.
