Ingredients

  • 4 cube steaks (about 1.5 lbs)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder in a shallow dish.
  2. Dredge each cube steak in the flour mixture, shaking off excess.
  3. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Brown steaks on both sides, about 3 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, sauté onions and bell peppers until softened.
  6. Sprinkle remaining flour mixture into the skillet and stir.
  7. Slowly pour in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring until gravy thickens.
  8. Return steaks to the skillet, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes.

Notes

  • Use a meat mallet to tenderize steaks if needed.
  • For extra flavor, deglaze skillet with a splash of red wine.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
