Ingredients

- 2 lbs cube steak
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 packet dry onion soup mix
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the cube steak on both sides, about 2 minutes per side.
- Place the sliced onions in the bottom of the crockpot.
- Layer the browned cube steak on top of the onions.
- In a bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper.
- Pour the mixture over the cube steak in the crockpot.
- Sprinkle the dry onion soup mix evenly over the top.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
- Serve hot over mashed potatoes or rice.
Notes
- For extra tenderness, let the steak cook on low for the full 8 hours.
- You can substitute cream of celery soup for a different flavor.
- Add mushrooms or bell peppers for additional vegetables.
