  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add onion, garlic, chili powder, and black pepper to the beef. Cook until onions soften.
  4. In a bowl, mix cornmeal, flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Stir in milk, egg, and vegetable oil until combined.
  6. Fold in corn kernels and shredded cheese.
  7. Spread beef mixture in a greased baking dish.
  8. Pour cornbread batter over the beef.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.
