Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, these churro waffles combine the best of churros and waffles into one delicious breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your waffle iron.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix milk, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Cook batter in the waffle iron according to manufacturer’s instructions.
  6. Brush each waffle with melted butter.
  7. Mix sugar and cinnamon in a shallow dish, then coat each waffle in the mixture.
  8. Serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, place cooked waffles on a wire rack.
  • Serve with chocolate sauce or caramel for dipping.
  • Leftovers can be reheated in a toaster.
